Born in Ankara in 1998, Sezen Karakaş began her formal piano studies at the age of eleven at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory — one of Turkey's most prestigious music institutions.

At sixteen, she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor with the Ingenium Academy Orchestra in the United Kingdom, working closely with pianists Simon Callaghan and Hiro Takenouchi — an experience that shaped her approach to both performance and interpretation.

She continued her studies at Mozarteum University Salzburg under Prof. Claudius Tanski, where she also premiered her own original piano sonata. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) in 2024, studying under Alexej Gorlatch, Christopher Park, and Dmitry Ablogin.

She was awarded the prestigious Deutschlandstipendium scholarship in 2018 and 2019 in recognition of her outstanding academic achievements and excellence in performance.

She has performed across Germany, Austria, Italy, Turkey, and the United Kingdom, and has been teaching piano since 2016 across all ages and levels. She teaches in German, English, and Turkish.

Her chamber music formation in Frankfurt included intensive work with professors and chamber musicians Jonathan Aner and Hansjacob Staemmler. She has given numerous chamber music concerts and taken part in various chamber music projects.

In 2021, she took part in the Neue Musik Nacht contemporary music project. In 2023, she helped organize and perform in a charity concert in collaboration with UNICEF, supporting victims of the Turkey earthquake, with all proceeds donated to relief efforts.

She is currently active as a solo pianist, chamber musician, and dedicated piano teacher, focusing on the classical piano repertoire and collaborative performance.

FAQ

The trial lesson lasts about 30 minutes. We get to know each other, talk about your goals and wishes, and make music together at the piano. The trial lesson is completely free and without obligation — you can decide afterwards, at your own pace, whether lessons are right for you.

Most children are ready for piano lessons from around age 5–6. During the trial lesson, I look individually at whether your child has the concentration and fine motor skills to begin. Every child is different — together we will find the right moment.

For regular practice, having an instrument at home is important. An acoustic piano is ideal, but a good digital piano with weighted keys is an excellent starting point. I am happy to advise you on which instrument is best for your situation.

Absolutely! Many of my students are adults, either learning piano for the first time or returning after a long break. It is never too late — and lessons are enjoyable at any age.

I teach in German, English, and Turkish. Simply choose the language you feel most comfortable in. This is especially convenient for international families in the Baden-Baden area.

Lessons take place in Bühl and are easily reachable from Baden-Baden (approx. 15 min), Rastatt, Achern, Sinzheim, Ottersweier, and the surrounding area. I will share the exact address when we arrange your first lesson.

Pricing depends on lesson duration (30, 45, or 60 minutes) and frequency. I am happy to share current pricing personally — simply send me a message or give me a call.

With me, you receive true one-on-one instruction — my full attention, tailored entirely to you. As a concert pianist trained at Mozarteum Salzburg and HfMDK Frankfurt, I bring real stage experience into every lesson. At the same time, the atmosphere is warm and personal, not academic or intimidating.
